Ernest Asuzu, the Nollywood star, is gone, the media can confirm.
The actor was reported to have collapsed and died at about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, according to details obtained by our reporter.
It was said that his wife had contacted fellow actor Desmond Elliot to reveal that he had died.
Shaibu Husseini, the top Nigerian journalist for The Guardian Nigeria, also went to his Facebook account to announce the passage of Asuzu.
Before his passing, Ernest was reported to have been dealing with stroke since 2014. A recording of the artist begging for alms went viral on social media in January 2020.
The Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) confirmed in February that it was planning arrangements to support Ernest get back on his feet.
The President of the Guild, Emeka Rollas, said, “Other members of the AGN have begun responding to the Association’s directives to assist Asuzu.” Hi, one of us is Ernest Asuzu. Since he developed stroke until there was a break in contact between them, I have always associated with him, but thank God that we have reconnected.’
Ernest Asuzu was a rapper and maker as well. He is often referred to as El Cream, and was founded in the state of Imo.
In the 1990s, he started his acting career and appeared in many film, including ‘Royal Battle’,’ Ogidan’,’ Raging Wish’,’ Never Stop’,’ Wide DayLight’,’ Last Wedding’,’ Ugoing to’ and ‘Labista’.
